Fundraising and Events

Fundraising or Benefit Auctions are used to fill the gap left by shrinking budgets and higher costs, more organizations are utilizing events with auctions to raise the needed funds. Successful benefit auctions don't just happen, they are a planned event by a great team of workers and resources. Your choice of an auctioneer is critical to the overall success of your event. Your auctioneer should be experienced, capable, engaging and an audience manager because two-thirds of the income will be from the live auction. The guests at the event are the celebrities and it is up to the auctioneer to bring fun and excitement to the auction guests.

Shumate Auctions offers several levels of involvement in your event planning:
  • Onstage with a microphone and offering the excitement of a live auction
  • Consultation for the event to assist the Steering Committee and Event Chair with planning
  • Consultation that includes ideas for games, displays, appeal, silent auction, item sequencing and other proven fundraising techniques
  • The use of the auction software for registration and checkout to include recording of the silent and live auction items as they are sold.
Kathy Shumate has a record of providing a fun and exciting evening for all and most importantly allow enough time for bidders to decide to bid on high-ticket items. We bring our own fundraising experience to your event to save you time, energy and money.
We assisted in benefits for a local civic organization, community outreach group, private schools, construction association and church winter gala. The level of involvement varied as did the number of guest which ranged from 32 to 500, but the end of the night success was the same for all groups. Each improved their bottom line over the previous year which, in part can be contributed to using Shumate Auctions over previous auctioneer or adding a live auction to the event for the first time.
